It's just everyone appears to be very together with their lives in order and here I am, with so many things at hand which I'm supposed to work on, choosing to go through Riverdale's Gilmore Girls season 7-esque dialogues if only for the delectable Cole Sprouse. Choices...

Betty and Veronica, Archie and the Gang were alongside Nancy Drew, Encyclopedia Brown, the Sweet Valley Twins as my fiction staples growing up.  So naturally I was curious of Riverdale, CW's take on the beloved comic series.  Normally, CW shows are not my cup of tea; hence my reservations. I have started this because I have just discovered that Cole Sprouse, who played Ross' kid in Friends, has now grown into a very handsome gentleman. Thoughts on the first three episodes (and youtube clips of Mr. Sprouse): - It has a Twin Peaks vibe (or suspiciously wants to be). - It doesn't achieve the ezzy-breezy panache of Gilmore Girl's spewing of pop culture references. It feels very forced. - OH MY GOD, REALLY?! MISS GRUNDY AND ARCHIE!? WTF?! It's like they've defiled Ms. Grundy. For a self-confessed theater junkie, I'm sorry to have missed several years of Virgin Lab Fest pero di man sad gud ma-rason ang "mowanatch sa kog plays" sa Ohabart Simpson. This year, the 14th offering of VLF, my little theater nerd heart is finally filled.  Showcasing one-act "Untried, Untested, Unstaged Plays" by burgeoning playwrights, color me excited. Set A Mga Eksena sa Buhay ng Kontrabida Playwright: Dustin Celestino, Director: Roobak Valle This is the story of Jake, a 35-year old who has not been able to put his life together, and of his family who are trying to deal with this seemingly menacing member of the clan and society. It's "How do you solve a problem like Maria?" but with drugs, violence, rumors of incest, and Jake. This is a solid act in 30 minutes.
